Stuff

I'm the network administrator and security specialist for a government contractor, and currently considering a rather substantial pay cut to become a high school math teacher. One of the many examples of my insanity.

This coming October will mark 14 years of marriage. We've got no children, and will never have any unless we adopt. Still unsure if that's what we want to do.

My life is rather boring, due mainly to my narrow range of interests. Science fiction/fantasy books, anime/manga, DVDs/Blu-Rays, computers and gaming take up 99% of my time. Lately gaming has been Playstation Portable and Playstation 3 (my PSN ID is also Alindawyl).

Hi Alin, thanks for taking time to add me as a friend. As also a non-fundamentalist, non-evangelical Christian, libertarian leaning person, it is good to know I'm not alone. I can honestly say that in reading your posts I've both woken up and smelled the Republican stench, as well as become more true to my libertarian leanings. No longer will I vote for the lesser of two weavils as I did in the last five major elections. What good will it do? I don't know. But if the U.S. populace would be more educated and make politicians earn their votes, it should go a long way to help tame our runaway government. I'm not kidding when I say you've at least helped influence one other person in myself to see that light. Maybe if we can each get a couple hundred thousand more we could start a movement. :P

    Best regards!

It took me forever to realize that this Yuku thing was set up similar to MySpace and allowed stuff like friends and detailed profiles. Of course I only started messing with mine just before leaving on a week-long vacation :)

Thanks for your thoughts on my thoughts. It really wouldn't take much to get me to respect Republicans again if they would only practice what they preach, something they haven't done since Reagan was president other than the first year they had the majority in Congress after the 1994 election. Unfortunately that didn't last long. Most of the core principles in their platform appeal to me greatly but Republicans just don't follow them anymore. If they won't practice what they preach, then I won't vote for them. Especially when what they offer now is so similar to what the Democrats offer, and I despise most Democrat policies.

Maybe McCain will be different. I do like his maverick attitude toward the Republican party leadership, but don't hold out much hope that he'll actually make sense or relieve my concerns about him personally.
